[School-nurse] Immunization enforcement

I send a letter by mail to the parent/guardian if the student is not in compliance on the day I process them as a new student, giving them 3 weeks from the official enrollment date to turn in the documentation for those immys they need. I give them a specific date. If the documentation is not presented by that date I send an expulsion letter giving them one more week and giving a specific date again. If the student comes to school on the expulsion date the parent/guardian is called to either pick them up or bring the documentation to the school. This works wonderfully, but only if you have the support of your principal. Most will turn in the documentation before the expulsion date, but there are always a few who have to be sent home until they get the doses they need. In my first letter I quote the Arkansas Law pertaining to immys .

Hope this helps.
