This is pretty much the way it is in my district as well.  I thought when I obtained my BSN, that my district would put me on the teacher pay scale automatically.  But that hasn't happened, so I have had to make a proposal to the superintendent to put me on the teacher scale and he is working on this for my next year contract.  Some districts pay their nurses on the teacher scale, some have a separate scale that they put nurses and technology personnel on and call it a professional scale.

Hello,
	I am Sandy Williams RN, I have been a school nurse in the Rogers 
School District for 15 years.  I am interested in knowing the districts who pay 
their nurses the same salary scale as the teachers.  I am also, interested in 
your highest step on your scale and the salary of that step.  As I have look at 
a few school websites it seems that our salary is behind many in the state.  
Our teachers are paid some of the highest salaries in the state but our 
nurses salaries our last step in behind many.

I would appreciate any information.
