[School-nurse] School-nurse Digest, Vol 10, Issue 10

Sherri-
In response to the email regarding school nurses/classified personnel,
this sounds like a great idea to me. We need to push for a diff.
"sub-group listing" rather than just being lumped in with
other classified personnel, such as janitors, secretaries & para-pro's,
since we do have a license & a degree.
What can I do to help?

I am currently the Wellness committee chairmen, but I don't plan to do
it again next year.  I am also the Safe & Drug Free Schools chair, and
that is a very busy committee with grant money attached to it to manage.
The wellness committee could be a full time job! If you had the time to
do all the components that need to be done, that group could make a real
difference.  I have also decided that there needs to be money allocated
for that committee to use, otherwise some of the activities just do not
get funded.

I am a member of our Classified Personnel Policy Committee at Benton
Schools.  I have brought before the committee a proposal of changing the
RN's classification to Classified Medical Professional.  Have any of
your districts done this or are any of you grouped in the certified
classification?
